New tower at GTU

Anyone know whats going on with the new tower at GTU? Have they started construction, or are they just now getting to the paperwork?

I used to fly there all the time, last I heard the city wasn't going to help pay, so there wsn't enogh money. They sure need one though.

I landed there on my very first solo cross country and when I got out of the plane a camera crew from news 8 austin came running up to me. I was like Oh $#*$% what have I done? They were just wanting to know my thoughts about needing a tower and what not. Being it was my first x-c and first time there I didnt comment.

Agreed they do need one, I was very nervous my fist time with all those planes in the pattern.
