New Thai captains

It's no news to most of you that Atlas has recently furloughed a bunch of FEs and FOs.

Those FOs were typed in the 747 when they completed Atlas training and they have a lot of experience flying in the Middle East and Far East.

I understand some of these typed FOs have accepted Capt positions for Thai Airways and have gone straight to revenue flying!

No training!
No checkride!
No OE!
Nothing!

Apparently the chief pilot is a Canadian so I'm guessing they have a fairly western style on the flight deck, but holy cow!

Does this impress anyone else as just a *little* ballsy--on the part of both management and the new Capts?
