Got my app in and my rec from a retired pilot.

Even with the recc sometimes I just feel like it's not nearly enough. I read some of the interview gouge and people say they had like 6 internal recs:eek: . Someday the gods of aviation will smile upon me again.

4000 tt
1100 pic (350 turb) And counting very slowly on reserve in CLE.

There certainly is alot of people much more qualified than myself hoping too. Good luck to all.

I had two recommendations. I believe what got me in is my friend who had a talk with one of the managers. That seems to be the key. Another friend of mine is highly qualified and has six recommendations. No call yet, but I just talked to one of our managers.
By the way, which PRS do you have? I have a CE-24.

I believe they are lowering that number to 48 a month in March. Management has stated we look to hire 12 a week for the remainder of the year. This new bid has 293 vacancies plus vacancies that weren't filled from the last bid.

We took delivery of 7 737-800's last year and 6 757-300's. We are getting 6 737-800's and 2 757-300's in 2006. First quarter of 2007 we take delivery of 2 777-200's.

Latest interview info is for the next two months CAL is looking to interview XJT pilots almost exclusively. Reason being there may be XJT furloughs this fall due to the removal of 69 aircraft and this could help mitigate some of them. This was info from a EWR CPO.

Paul,

If you're working for CAL Express and if your not in the preferential interview group then you can't qualify for an interview until all preferential interviewees have come over to Continental. However I believe that if the PIP group isn't complete it will be shortly, then it will be a free for all for all CALEXP pilots with no honoring of seniority for CAL interviews.

I believe CAL has already interviewed (and tentatively hired) several XJT pilots outside of the Preferential Interview Group.

I think you meant that they would not interview others until they wrapped up interviewing or reinterviewing all the Pref guys and they had all made their declaration of whether or not they were going to go.

I think he meant they will not HIRE/Start Class until the PIP's are gone....

Well that's highly questionable logic. If CAL wants to mitigate furloughs at XJT, interview and hire those folks in the fall, when they lose the airplanes! If you hire a few hundred today, XJT will only have to hire a similar number right now to last the 7-8 months until the 69 tails leave....Then furlough all those poor folks. The only way to make that work is to defer their class date. Yet I don't believe the flightinfo servers have the terabytes worth of bandwidth to carry all the bellyaching, bitching and moaning that would cause.

Is literacy a requirement?

No but it does'nt hurt.

Excuse the poorly put together sentences and paragraphs. I don't get much sleep lately since my second came along and I try to keep the posting to a minimum. If my wife catches me doing leisure activities, its off to toxic waste removal with me if you know what I mean. Usually my grammar and spelling are the first to go.
:)

Oh man, I hear that. Congrats anyway though!

Oh man, I'm frikkin' jealous!

I've heard that the airphones weren't installed "yet." It was implied that they will be, but that's not a solid fact.
