I'm just curious, is there any, or has there ever been any airlines besides Colgan, where the FA's had a union and the pilots didn't?

Also, at colgan, the normal duty day for pilots is 16 hrs. The normal duty day for FA's is 14 hrs. Is it just me, or is this odd?

Don't take this the wrong way, but if you're an unhappy pilot group, do something about it. Alpa is out there to help you. Yes, alpa is an evil that no one really wants, but sometimes you need someone to be looking after your back.
Skywest fires on an average 2-3 pilots a month. Do you think that would happen if they had a union? I know it wouldn't happen.
Yes we all make mistakes and there is very few flights without a mistake, but some are worse than others and need to be looked after.
I would say that if you're all unhappy do something about it. Just a thought that needs to be said.

I would say that the FA's at Skywest will vote in a union b4 the pilot group. But we all know that the pilots have no balls for that company

Agreed.

Comair. The pilot union there is a union in name only.

Remember when the Comair FAs (Teamsters) saved the day by shooting down the gratuitous concessions they were about to embark on a few years ago, even though the pilots approved it? They have WAY bigger balls than the pilots. The pilots may as well not have a union... since the strike, they roll over whenever commanded to do so.

CommutAir got with the arrival of the mighty Dash-8 the arrival of a flight attendants union as well. The woefully underpaid/overworked pilot group will get another chance at unionizing soon hopefully.
