I flew into SFO a week ago and noticed some new RNAV `Q' airways listed up and down the west coast.

Anyone out there flown them yet?
How long have they been in use?
Any special rules for them and what are the advantages of using them?
What is the long range planning for these routes?

1. Yup
2. Seems like a couple of years.
3. Just like any other RNAV routes you need to be RNAV capable (GPS, INS, etc).
4. No, there really isn't any operational advantage in using these routes, since you can just as easily get direct MOXEE or BTG going Northbound, or direct LANDO or FLW, or anything in between going southbound.
