I know for a fact that a rather large operation that has been around for many years as a repair station and has a great relationship with our local FSDO was told that their 135 application was on hold until further notice as a result.

Why would a repair station want a 135 certificate given the decline in charter?

I'll tell you what, if they get my airplane flying and the weather is okay, then I will be at the FSDO Friday morning. I will ask if they are accepting applications for new 135 certificates.

Any news? Doubtful they would say anything official.

No question something is going on. The FAA has bigger issues with the airlines and A008. Why would they want to let others in the mix until they get the ones already issued in compliance?

Getting a/c on the certificate is even tough these days, especially in Dallas.

The fact is that it is also more difficult to sell a 135 certificate, especially the ones that have value such as over 10 worldwide. Just buying a one aircraft 310 will not cut it and if you purchase a bigger certificate and have management changes, back to the drawing board. The time frame it takes has definitely slowed the applications.

So, the FAA can't get its act together and they're shutting down businesses as a way to fix that?

And people want the Government to run the healthcare system... TC
