2. I spent exactly one year as an asst. It's about just under a year now I think.

I think the "official" line is ~1 year, but it's totally dependent upon growth. Most in the current class will probably upgrade within 6 months.

Those are minimums.

From what I understand, they have almost 100 applicants that met the requirements for the anticipated 6-9 positions. All the externals from the current class have at least 5 years of 121 experience, FYI.

I have a phone interview with SWA coming up this week. Any pointers from anyone????

It'll be a rep from the People Dept and will likely center around your work history and what you think you can offer SWA, etc. Very little dispatch specific things, if I remember correctly.

High confidence intel is that this round will be about 9 total.
Another round likely will happen near the end of the year for an early 09 arrival.

I just got a call for an SWA phone interview for this coming friday!

Had the phone interview on Wednesday. It was HR interview. Expect some questions about your experience, but most questions revolve around your wanting to work for SWA. Best of luck to you!

Pay days are the 5th and 20th of the month.

Asst. positions, while technically are eligible for overtime won't get any (most of the time) simply because of the number of assts. vs. the available shifts. Most of your "asst" time will be spent on a dispatch desk with a trainer.

Once you upgrade, there's quite a bit overtime available.
