Hello...

Any regionals hiring directly into the left seat?

Thanks.

Apparently this is now happening on a limited basis at Pinnacle.

From what I've read, though, you can plan on five years on reserve, and reserve at Pinnacle means you will spend a LOT of time at work... But not necessarily flying.

Then again, that's just what I read. Perhaps some Pinnacle guys can offer up some better info.

From time to time Colgan has hired "street Capts", not sure which aircraft though. Also Mesa back in the spring sent some newhires with enough TT to the left seat of the Dash, however I do not think they were specifically hired as a capt at Mesa. Carribean Sun hires street capts if you've got Dash time or other equivalent TP time. I'm not sure but maybe Trans States was a quick upgrade in the J41 (I think because of the UAL E145 orders), again if you've got the time, but that may have gone away now. Not too long ago and more than once Ameriflight has been looking for Metro/BE99/BE1900 capts on climbto350.com

Of course if its just PIC time you looking for than maybe try Cape Air. 90% single pilots pistion twin.

Also in freight I've seen Mountain Air hire in the left seat on the F27 in the past and of course the Van would be left seat there too. Don't know if Empire is the same or not.

A few week ago if I'm not mistaken I thought some guy on here was saying about Gulf Stream hiring a few street 1900 capts????

Hope it helps

i think gulfstream is planning street hire captains as they get more and more of the brasilias. most of their current captains are anticipating moving on to the brasilia. most of the pft fo's move on to pinnacle and the full time fo's i don't think can meet the cpt vacancies. at mesa we had rapid mvmt in the 1900 but we are now fat, dump, and happy with 1900 pilots now with no movement to the jet for the current captains (those moving over have been sent back from training in what appears to be jo's doing in keeping the cpt crj ranks low for his erj guys to move over once airways goes under).

Island Air possibly, and Colgan, maybe.

Street captains

it is true, in the last two newhire classes, manegment came in and asked if anyone had at least 3500 hrs and wanted to bid for captain. Only one guy did. It's risky if you fail there is no safety net like the right seat. There are at least 70 fo's that had the mins for captain upgrade but didn't want to do it at this time.
