Hey everyone. I was interested in seeing if there would be enough interest and support for a new forum on this site dealing with Fuel Prices. We could update cities, FBO's, and prices. There are several sites that you can do this at ( AirNav comes to mind) and I thought this site could add to it's already growing pilot info. We could get info from a variety of operators and use that info in dealing for a better price. I know the frac guys get pretty good discounts at some airports and only found out how much of a discount by accident; the clerk left the computer screen on while i was awaiting my turn to pay for fuel. That info allowed my to get an additional .35/gal off my negotiated rate.
I know the large operators get volume discounts but in this day and age, every little bit helps..
Let the carnage begin..

This is what i had in mind... We have multiple forums on this site, General, Part 135, Corporate, Cargo etc. Let's add one more," Fuel Prices ". I don't know how this can get started but I guess a moderator could alert the powers that be based on it's popularity or need. I envision a map of the US with state lines drawn on it. Point and click on the state you are interested in, and that states' list of Cities and FBO"s come up with the most recent prices of fuel.
Please chime in with your ideas as I think this would be a valuable addition to this site. We all purchase fuel and it's getting critical for all of us. let's see if other's are interested.

Hawkerjet,

Good idea, but head to airnav.com. It will probably be a lot more accurate. All the airline and military guys around here aren't too concerned about fuel price. They never see the ticket and probably don't care to report.

Exactly, when we do contract gas like avfuel, p66, or mariah the price is settled at the end of the month.

Wankel

I've been hunting fuel for over ten years now. Even if you're getting contract fuel, you can call them with a company password and request a fuel price. Our company has all our contract fuel on line and all pilots have the passwords. Checking over 8 contracts for several stops can get timely, but i'm not complaining, just looking for a short cut.
Each week on Tuesday, the new fuel prices are set for the industry and available for the following week.
