How are the other CRJ carriers working with the new Flap AD?
You guys tankering fuel around, booting half your passengers and spending 2 hours reading flow charts of "What if's"????
Or is your airline fixing the problem?

So far not that bad at ASA. It seems that it's worded in a way that you can get around it, unless the weather is really bad. i.e. Your not likely to get into your destination anyway.

What company are you?

The REAL Delta Connection :)

I overheard someone in the crew room saying that the FAA has "Told the company to fix the problem".....but no solid word yet.

Maybe it's just that we haven't had much weather to deal with down here. I'm sure ASA can screw it up too.

CVG-PIT
Ramp Fuel : 20,000
Alternates : JFK-ATL-PHL
Alternates for the Alternates: ORD-DSM-LAX
Original Passenger Count :50
Because we're a flying gas tank : 3

(a little sarcasm was added to this, but not much)

There isn't really a whole lot of extra fuel needed.

It is more of a planning issue, just to make sure the alternate is there for the appropriate condition. I would venture to guess most of our alternate airports have enough runway to do a flap zero landing. (just because it is on the release, doesn't mean you have to go there if it is barely enough to land)

It is more of a Pain in the A$$ to the pilots than anything, it won't adversely effect pax loads (contaminated runway is one instance it could effect loads).

There is alot of more fuel needed, don't you need to be able to fly to a ALT. with flaps failed 45 with normal reserves?

Only if the weather is and expected to be below minimums for the approach, if it above minimums, you don't

As long as the weather is expect to remain above minimums for the approach you don't.

We can't even start an approach with the vis below mins, so how often will this come into play?
