I don't understand how 24 hr duty with 17 hrs of flying can be legal just because you fly international and carry a flight engineer (last 8 hrs are a "tail-end ferry").

Yeah, the old, salty FE is usually the first to fall asleep if he is supposed to keep the drivers awake! lol

I will say that as far as "tail-end ferries" I have always had the option at my current company on both the 135 and 121 side to not do them if we are too tired, as in not feeling forced to do them. Of course we are in North America and it usually means a night at home if I end up doing one and that factors into my decision to do one to be honest. Then as soon as something happens you lose your license because you are being reckless.
