According to the two guys on bicycles that came to my door, they had my answer.
 
Were they wearing black suits? Just bring a glass of water to the door with you and throw it on them. Apparenlty they're not allowed to come in contact with water during there "recruiting" walks.

Thats what you get with a religion that was devised by a guy who had a dream after he drank too much and wanted to legally sleep & marry more than just one girl.
 
Wait, if I join I can drink too much and marry a couple of chicks?! Do they give you annulments on demand? WOOHOO!!!!!:D

If you really want to throw them for a loop, invite them in. Offer them a seat at the couch. Then watch the expressions on their faces. They won't know what to say. After a few minutes of ackward silence, ask them what they want. They'll respond that "we don't know, we've never made it this far!"
 
Sometimes if you invite them in, talk to them a while, etc... it turns into a small gay orgy.


Don't ask me how I know this.

Edit: This only works with the younger ones on bikes. You know, the Mormons.

PS I tell the black suits that I'm a Catholic when they come to my door and they give me these disgusted "Oh..." remarks and they leave, never to come back again.

The look on their face is priceless and I don't reckon they will be knocking on your door any time soon.
