Just got the good word today that I was selected as an Army WOFT candidate! During the whole process, I had what I thought would be 2 huge obtacles, my age, and the fact I had PRK performed on my eyes . But it worked it out. So if you always dreamed of serving and flying in the military, go for it, you never know. Now the real challenge is ahead for me, basic, WOC school and last but not least flight school itself. I can't wait to get started. However, I am enjoying the moment right now.

I am 32 years old. I believe the Army is allowing a WOFT candidate to be 34 years old at the time of selection. I hope this may inspire another person to go for it.

Good Luck!

I went through at 32 as well back in 86. The rule back then was 30 max so it looks like they never really do pay much attention to age. Good luck to you my friend and get ready for the longest ground school and flight training classes you have ever had. You wont regret it.

Congrats! WOC and flight training were the longest year and 10 days of my life and I wouldnt trade a one of them for anything. Keep your nose in it and remember to laugh everyday at the stupid stuff.

You will have an amazing experience. Again concrats.

best of luck, you will never regret making this move. Flying in the militarty, no matter what you fly is an awesome adventure. Of course this all comes from the kindness of time looking back, however there were times in the my mil flying time, that I went "WTF am I doing here"

Just remember all of this during the morning PT Grandpa. The military is a great experience that sets you apart, in all aviation circles. Not always good, but mostly great.

Enjoy!
