I've been hearing a lot of different info about the NetJets physical. I've heard that it's no big deal and others have said it is very extensive. I'm just a little worried if I do get hired and then they find something (whatever it may be) on the medical. I've been passing 1st class medicals for years and no problems there. Does anyone have any info on "disqualifing" medical findings?

Thanks a lot!

The "pre-employment physical" will be changing. At some point in the near future, new-hires will be required to show up to indoc having already passed a pre-employment physical at a doctor of their choice, but with certain items required to be checked. I.e., more demanding than a standard 1st class medical. They will also be required to have a "recent" 1st class medical.

This is to make the "pre-employment physical" truly pre-employment. So if you can't pass it, you haven't already given up whatever job you currently have.

Thanks for the reply, I like the "Pre employement physical" idea better. Any ideas when that will happen? Not that I have anything to worry about, but it would not be a good thing if something did show up on the medical. Any ideas on what they are checking for besides the basic stuff.

I don't know what they're looking for. I had the NetJets physical when I started indoc, and it was pretty thorough. They did a blood panel, tested for diabetes, etc, etc. All I know is I passed. I'm not an old fart, so I wasn't really worried about it.

I'm not sure when the new program will start. I think I remember someone mentioning April hires, but don't quote me on that.

I think one of the big things they looked for was evidence of heavy drinking. I heard stories of new hires being sent home for a month when liver values showed a possible problem. After a month they were retested. I would not worry about it unless you are hiding something major from FAA medical. I knew a pilot who was on diabetic medication and had not bothered to tell the FAA about it. Something like that **might** be a problem.

Once again, thanks for the replies. No problems passing the FAA 1st class. Just looking for more info on the "hire" / "no hire" qualifications?
