I know this has been covered in one way or another in past posts but I am going to asks again for the latest information. A good friend of mine has an interview later this month in Columbus with NJ. I am asking on his behalf the following;

What aircraft is he likely to take his sim evaluation ride in?

Can you specify your base prior to agreeing to come to work? He lives in PHX.

What aircraft is most likely to be an initial assignment for a new hire?

Any other tips that I can pass along are greatfully appreciated.

Yes I have heard via this forum many of the issues that the NetJets pilots are saddled with. I guess this fellow is betting that things will get better. Good luck to all.

Just show up breathing with at least a Private pilot license...should do the trick. And I'll bet you THINK I am kidding...nope.

NJI busted a new-hire that I know a few months ago during his new-hire PC check.

Can't speak for NJA, but NJI was pretty darn strict on that PC.
 
Have him check the Will fly for food board. When I went through the gouge was dead on.

The last I heard it was still good (that has been a couple of years now).

You get to pick the Flight Safety, so just find out what they fly in at that center and you could possibly get a box that you have experience in. I went through ATL and they did the ride in a King Air.

Just a question...why would you want to come to this place as contentious as things are now? Not intended as flame or a slam, just curious.

A indicated in my original post this is not for me, but a friend who lives in the PHX area. Maybe he is just betting on the come that things will get better, which of course I hope they do for all you NJ pilots. I have a good job at the moment at least, so I am lucky in that I can watch from the side lines and root for you folks.

PS Dumb question but where do you find the fly for food board?

I got gouged up for about three interviews off this and all three were on the money.

PHX is a gateway for us by the way.

Unless it's changed from late last year, NetJets uses a cobbled-together Citation S/II sim at the FSI facility at the airport. It's got steam guages on the left side and EFIS on the right. According to what I was told at the interview, the sim was literally pulled off the garbage heap out back just for interview sim evals. The profile was pretty straight-forward with no emergencies. As I recall, it was a takeoff, some level-offs and climbs then steep turns. After that, proceed to a LOM for a hold and then shoot an ILS. As the sim isn't very good and is non-motion, the landing isn't graded. By the way, the sim is flown from the left seat (steam guages) and there is no flight director or autopilot - it's all raw data.

As best I can tell, NetJets is looking for basic instrument skills (they don't expect perfection in a less-than-perfect sim) and to see how the two interviewees interact, vis-a-vis CRM. It's really a straight-forward sim ride and probably the hardest thing for some people is figuring out how to enter the hold without the aid of an FMS.
