If he wants to have an accurate time report, I would suggest he start with the time he hasn't logged yet. Then add those hours with what he has logged already. That way he'll at least know his times. NJA has a nasty timegrid to fill out, so if he wants it to be correct, it helps to have the time logged.
Anyway, later he can add all the previously logged hours to LBP and it will sort them chronologically by itself. Piece of cake. I bought it and caught up with 6 years of airline flying which I hadn't logged in just a matter of weeks.
