the bad 39 months seat lock

Incorrect. A 39-month equipment lock is in place, but it will not prevent a crewmember from upgrading. If he upgrades in the same type, his original lock date stands. If he upgrades into a different type, a new 39-month lock will begin.

If a pilot decides to switch types as an FO, he'll begin a new 39-month equipment lock. If he then upgrades into a different type when it comes available, the remainder of that second equipment lock will be added to the new one.

That's an improvement over the previous contract, which would equipment and seat lock you if you bid another type as an FO.

I seriously doubt a newhire could upgrade in less than 39 months, but things could change...

If you have a 39 month seat lock you should hope it is a nice fleet because that is a long time. G200, Hawker 800XP-C, Falcon 2000 (rare) would be nice...

the guys starting after dec 7
the bad 39 months seat lock
the good $5766. a month starting day 1

quick question for those a little more in the know. I started today 12/10, but the offer of employment that i signed and returned was a few weeks ago (the 24 month lock) which one do you think applies to me?

everything was great today, great people here at NJA happy to be aboard.

The section that deals with seat locks (sec. 15) took effect on December 7th, so I would assume you have a 39-month lock.

to confirm what imacdog wrote, your hire date is the first day you reported to company duty (in your case 12/10), so your 39 month lock begins on 12/10.

Where do they put you up in CMH? Also how long is Indoc? Are there any waits between Indoc and the simulators? Sounds like things are going well. Hope I hear a call someday !!!

The hotels seem to float around a bit. The Embassy is a common choice by the company though.

Indoc is 2 weeks. Between indoc and sim, there is a new minimum time period off but I can't recall it exactly, maybe 5 days. As for a wait, it likely depends a bit on the fleet.

Good luck to you as you wait for the call.

Yeah, you don't want to get stuck in the Hawker 800xp-'H'! Rumor has it, it's not a very nice fleet. Mean captains, crappy avionics, uptight schedulers and strict check airmen!
