Hey guys! First off, please, anyone with negative remarks keep them to yourself. I have gone through all the NJA threads and have heard your voice! I am currently 150hrs TT and ME from hiring mins. I will have about 1200 turbo prop, 500 of it ME. It's all single pilot 135 flying in the NorthEast. 1000 hrs as CFI. I only have an associates degree. Do I stand a chance of getting in? It will take another 3-4 months to meet the rquirements to apply! I know I will meet the requirements but will it be competitive? I have no connections in the company but have a few that are customers. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks

As long as you meet the minimums, you always have a chance. Never sell yourself short.
If you get called for the interview, it's your job to lose.
Good Luck!

I helped a friend of mine out a couple of years ago. He had exactly 2,501 total. He got the job and is now pretty close to upgrade in the ultra or beechjet. Knowing someone really helps. If you don't know anyone on the inside than introduce yourself to some QS guys at what ever FBO you have your freight run. We are all pretty nice folks who would be happy to answer any questions. Good Luck and remember that a great attitude goes along way! Your resume is one thing but your positive attitude and personality is another. Anyone can get time but know one likes an A$$!:)

I was actually thinking of trying again. My biggest problem is that I don't know anybody there, but I'd love a shot at getting on at NJA. I'm 3,500 TT 2,000 jet almost 1,000 jet PIC, but no internal rec. I've sent them resumes before and never even got the application package. Also, what bases are they hiring into? I live in the DAL area and that is the one I want. I'm going to fire them another resume today and hope at least this time they acknowledge my existance. :)

Try sending a nice email to (edited)

She's very nice and will help you out. Just ask her if she has received any of your resume's and "Oh by the way, I have attached one to this email." :)

That my help.

Good Luck

If they didnt even send you an app. with those times, I have a ways to go yet!

Don't forget flyinacez, sometimes things get lost in the shuffle. This could've easily happened to Capn's stuff. I'd suggest an email to Derinda Capn - especially if you've sent multiple resumes. While it helps to have someone on the inside, I can tell you I sent my resume in without any help and got an app in the mail in 9 days. I had the app package walked in by a guy who is friends with Derinda and has been there for 10 years. That was 5/8...I have yet to hear Boo.

As Frontier and CRJ said, if you meet the min's you stand as good a chance as any. Certainly don't let THAT stop you from trying. Slug it out another month or so and send in your app. However, just know that the process takes anywhere from 6-8 months (or so it seems from other posters on the forum). Looks like another winter in the Bandit.

You still going to interview Pat if you get the call or are you happy with your new gig? I remembered we were applying at NJA at around the same time.

To be honest RP...the new gig is way better. The airplane is well established and there's even talk of turning it into a G450/GV in the next few years. Plus, its all 91 flying and no charters. I won't even bother getting into the cashflow... If this hadn't presented itself, I definitely would have interviewed and taken an offer (if given).
