Just wanted to get your opinions on this subject. Do you think FRDA's are working? Is there anything we can do differently? Have you ever been denied hotel release WITHOUT just cause. I believe the intent of the language was for the company to have a 2 hour window to come up with something else for the crew. Do you feel the company is doing a good job at this? This is a serious question and I am not here to flame anyone. Just trying to get some info from the pilot group.

Thanks

I think you should have your people speak to our MEC president at the IBB.
Fix it that way. I am not willing to give up any nuggets that may benefit us now.

I don't mean to be harsh, but this is business.

But don't worry, someone will come along and give you the info you are looking for. There are always the :uzi: a##moles.

I'm not going to comment on the nuts and bolts of frda. FRDA was created to prevent crew rot and fbo appreciation time with no plan other than to sit there with no way/plan of utilizing the crew.

Just a persepctive.

Agreed...but, I was speaking of the 2 hour FRDA after the aircraft has a mechanical. The way it was designed gives the company 2 hours to come up with another plan before going to hotel.

The intent of FRDA is clear; Crew Rot prevention.

As far as how well it IS or IS NOT working...

I let FRDA work for me or I make FRDA work for me ($$). It's that simple.

I bet IBT1108 will have additional info for you in the form of grievances.

Other than that, I hesitate to provide any information for fear that it will be used against this pilot group in current/future negotiations and or program implementation.

Nothing personal... just business.

For those of us not (yet?) in the Brotherhood, what does the FRDA acronym stand for? I gather it is a policy revolving around FBO standby versus hotel standby?

Flight Ready Duty Assignment.

Simple answer is the company has to have something for you to Actually DO,, equipment to DO it in, or a plan to DO something (within a time frame) or they have to send you to the hotel or pay OT.

For those of us not (yet?) in the Brotherhood, ?
You have a good sense of humor...

We have a very good career here. There are a few things that have been a lttle annoying. I think hanging around in FBOs for no reason was top of the list.

7 Days in a row for 12 hrs a day in a tie ( I hate wearing ties)... nice to take your shoes off and relax a little when there is a chance.

I assume the OT kicks in after 2 hrs at the FBO? What is the overtime pay after that? Is it per hour or a set rate?

I've heard that you can expect about 10% more $$$ for a yearly gross with the overtime etc. Is that a good estimate?

Also (for the reserve schedule ) what is a good range for per diem a month..I'm hearing about 6K a year or $500 a month.. Is that also a good estimate?

I'm in the interview pool and trying to get a good idea about how much I can expect to bring home a month for the first 4-5 years on FO pay.

Thanks
