I posted this in the dispatcher board, and also here, so excuse me if you already saw this posted on the other forum.

Hey, I have a friend that was looking at applying for a flight coordinator position, and he was asking me about what the starting pay is, since I didn't know I thought I would ask here. He also holds a dispatch certificate, but has never held an actual dispatch job since he got the certificate 10 years ago. Does anyone know if NetJets hires dispatchers directly, or do you pretty much have to get your foot in the door in another position first?

Thanks for any infomation.

I was talking with a flight coordinator on Wednesday evening who was going to be starting in dispatch the following day. He got is DX license after becoming a flight coordinator, so it's not quite the trail that your friend may be seeking (direct entry to dispatch).

Tell your friend to make connections and see if NetJets hires dispatchers from the outside or if he needs to go through a different job to get to the dispatch side of the house. I do believe that the company is short-staffed and looking to add a few people. Turnover has been an issue in that area.

I think they do hire dispatchers off the street. However, with this person not actually having used his dispatch certificate I doubt he'd be competitive, but who knows.
