Any NetJets F2000 Pilots:

What are the restrictions at NetsJets for using the Falcon 2000 for flights to Hawaii?

How much wind can the airplane take with a departure point of San Francisco?

Any other pertinent information regarding the F2000 and overwater operations would be helpful.

Thanks

We go out there on an almost daily basis. Jeppesen international flight planning does the flight planning to determine whether trip can be done without a wet footprint. I find the 2000 rarely has one. If it is a problem a G whiz is substituted on the trip.

That being said it's possible we never learn of the trips when the winds aren't favorable. They tend to look at the trips days in advance, and we learn of them usually the night before. In my experience, more than about 50kts of sustained headwind is a deal breaker. I find Jeppesen flight planning is very reliable.

I guess you don't get to got out there during the winter months much, then, huh?

We go out there primarily in the winter. But when the headwind component gets much above 50kts the DA2000 classic is borderline for Hawaii. Stating the obvious, there's often a big difference in velocity and component. Just my experience having been out there a few times. We're not playing with a ton of extra gas in the classic 2000. The EX is another story.
