Would it be realistic for someone to live 4 hours away from a domicile and do the reserve schedule during the first few months of employment at NJ? How long till 7&7? How often do you need to show at 5am on your first day for example? Trying to figure out how I can make this work without driving at 1am to show at 5am and then work a 14hr duty day. Thanks

How long till 7&7? (Depends on the fleet and hiring.)

How often do you need to show at 5am on your first day for example?

(My first day shows at MCO have been from 0000 local to 1200 local with
5-6am as typical.)

Trying to figure out how I can make this work without driving at 1am to show at 5am and then work a 14hr duty day. Thanks

(I'd get a crash pad until I was on 7/7, at least.)

4 hours isn't that bad but I'd plan on buying a hotel room prior to trips because 5-7am show times are very common. But you may not have to do it that often. I'm on the Ultra and my reserve schedule for Jan. and Feb. has been all 7 day trips with an average of 5 days off in between.

Thanks guys, just curious with all the newhires how many people are going to commute or move to a domicile?

It wouldn't be fun but you can do it. I know guys that did the old 17 day schedule that live 5-6 hours away. I lived 2 hours away on the 17 day. 4 hours on the 18 day wouldn't be any different. You still have 3 tours a month same as the 17 day.

What is the call out time on RSV?

We really don't have RSV like the airlines do. Sometimes if you don't have a good plane or a full crew you'll get put on standby at the hotel or if you're in domicile at your residence. You're supposed to be ready to leave the hotel within 30 minutes of getting a new brief. But this happens to pilots on both schedules. RSV at NetJets means you will probably work an average of 3 more days per month than the 7-7 schedule. Your only firm days off are the 4 "H" days you bid and the required days off after a trip (either 3 or 4 depending on how many days you're out). All other days off you have to call in by 7pm the night before to see if you're working the next day or not. If you're not then it's a day off, no waiting around for the phone to ring. For example, I've been doing all 7 day trips usually followed by 5 days off. I don't have to call in the 1st 4 of those days because they're mandatory days off, but I do have to call in the night before that 5th day off. Although the company is not required to, in practice they've been posting your intended work schedule on the crewops website. I started flying under the new rules right after Xmas and so far they haven't deviated from the posted schedule. When I call in for those non-mandatory days off the schedulars even seem a bit confused as to why I'm calling in.

AirBear is it 4 "H" days per three month bid period or per month? I also understand these four days have to be either all together or in pairs seperated by a minimum number of days.

4 days off per month, all together or in pairs seperated by a min of 7 days. So you can't get 2 consecutive Sat. & Sun. off but you are pretty much guaranteed at least 2 weekends per month off if that's how you bid your "H" days. They just can't be in a row.

That's another nice thing about NetJets, I've never seen a Part 121 airline where you can hold 2 weekends off per month as a new hire right out of training.

Your 4 H days are monthly.

They must either be consecutive or have a minimum of 7 days between them.
