Our owner pilots go through training and recurrent with us, at their own expense. I rode in the back while one sat up front with one of our IP's. Couldn't tell the difference from a regular line pilot. We're not talking about weekend flyers here. Probably more experience than those who question the safety of this program.

Crew members who wish not to ride are granted their request and travel via airline. I don't recall ever hearing of this option being chosen, but it is in the CBA.

Ive flown a bunch with the owner pilots. I had all the ore conceived notions that everyone has and was greatly surprised at how good and professional they were.

Friggin hilarious!

glade your on this board and not flying with me at netjets! Best Job I ever had!

+1 on the owner pilots. Flew with one in recurrent and he was as prepared and professional as anyone in the room. He even bought the whole facility lunch (back when they could do that!).

Have flown Him and his family in the back two or three times and by far they are some of the best owners we have the privilege of flying. Was even invited to their home in the islands for supper when we bumped into each other in the Peace and Plenty!
