I don't believe its a requirement, but as competitive as things are is there any chance of geting on without one?

I have a 4 year, owned and operated a flight school that catered to wealthy guys and their Cirruses, flew 135 freight and am a 121 captain and I still haven't got the interview call (I've had my app in since Jan 2nd)....so you probably have just as much of a chance as anyone else...I'm just a lowly applicant though, someone with more inside info would probably be more qualified to answer.

Good luck!

Yes. If they really wanted it, they would make it a requirement, or at least an official recommendation. I believe NJA uses a points process for your application. I'm sure a college degree is worth some points, but don't know how many. Once you get the interview, it's all about convincing them you are the right person for the job.

REAL degree not required

I can't believe that a real 4 year degree is a deal breaker. Just look at all the OSU grads that work for NetJets!

The part in the ICOM message today from RTS talking about how we can team with OSU since they provide a high level of education made me want to vomit.

Duke, UNC, NC State, and Wake Forest are all located in the RDU area and are well known for being top notch universities in academics.

I guess it all comes down to which area provides the best deal and kickbacks. Kind of like the financial kickbacks OSU provides its athletes (ie, Maurice Clarrett and the current recruitment of Terelle Pryor).

No BA degree required. Its nice to have it on a resume, and I'm sure it would help you, but its not a requirement.

Keep patiently waiting... I have a friend interviewing today and he put his stuff in back at the end of September 2007. He was notified of an interview about 10 days ago. 4 year college degree, approx 5500 hours and currently a 135 PIC.
