135 Commerical operator- flying lears, no schedule , always on call, better pay than a regional, very iregular hours...some months could fly 100 hours a month and some months fly 20 hours a month.

121 Regional- lower pay, better planes, much easier flying, a real schedule, regular flight hours per month, 121 benefits.....

Currently I work for the 135 company... but im trying to decide what is a better life and better job. What do yall think?

Neither, I think you should become a proffesional bowler. Chicks dig guys on the PBA.

Ya gotta pick the job that gives you the best chance to achieve your goals, and in the shortest order.

You didn't state your goals, so I'll have to adlib a bit.

If you intend to someday fly a whale full of businessmen from SFO to China, then go ahead and get into 121.

If you are just looking for the best job you can get in aviation, then I'd stay put. I'm assuming that you are already PIC in 135.

Here's why I'd avoid a regional. Unless you happen to luck into a quick upgrade, you're going to be there a long time. If you can foresee the quick upgrade, and your crystal ball says that you can make a decent living at said quick upgrading regional, then the regional might be an ok career choice,.................if the regionals are your goal. Also, the regionals with quick upgrades traditionally are not the ones with which you'd expect to make a career.

In my opinion, staying charter gives you an easier entrance into the best of the non-airline flying jobs. You'll make contacts in an FBO that your airline buddies can't access. For me, I could live quite well on the pay and lifestyle of a top-flite corporate flight department.

Here's the bottom line, your life at the bottom, whether that is 121 or 135 will not be easy. Take the job that gets you the best life in as short as possible time.

A word of caution about the guaranteed days off given a regional pilot. Having days off, but no money to spend on them can be a very frustrating existance. I've been there, don't want to go back!

good luck,
enigma

Is it strawberry flavored?...the Sphrynxlla? Go 121, I bet you have buddies that could help you out. You fly too much and the flavor of the world contest you're having has disappointed us!
