I just had a question that maybe a few of you could answer. My Dad is 63 years old and is a retired AA/TWA captain. He was looking into becoming a mentor in one of the very light jets that are coming out. The problem is that he has had some heart issues in the past and to get a first or second class medical it would cost alot of money. He can get a third class medical and also he nolonger has his ATP privelegs because he lost it at age 60. Is he able to instruct with a 3rd class medical and also take money from his students that he is teaching in the vlj? Second if he couldnt get a medical can he still instruct in the Very light jets?
