I have an interview with a regional airline in 17 days. I need more 20 hours to meet the 6 month minimum.

I'm looking for someone to split the fuel costs. Looking to rent a C-150, 152 or 172 either out of Hooks or Williams airports. I'm "checked out" at Hi-Tech at Hooks and at Williams. You can have all the PIC -- I just need the hours. If you need instruction, I'll do it for free. We can go X-C anywhere in Texas, Louisiana, etc. I just need to boost my currency ASAP!

PM me if you're interested!

Thanks!

Dunno if this is flamebait, but I'll bite anyway...

My advice to you is dont waste your money to get those last oh-so-precious 20 hours of total time in your logbook. Instead spend those 20 hours preparing yourself for the interview by going over ATP written questions, reading the AIM, or even getting a few hours in a sim to polish up your approaches. In my humble opinion you'll get much more out of those 20 hours than you would droning above the Texas countryside. If you are honest and upfront about your lack of 20 hours I dont think that will matter much in the grand intrview scheme. After all they DID call you, right?

No flaming allowed

I would LIKE to do just that. However, this particular airline is VERY strict about this requirement. People with 1000's of hours have been sent home from the interview with 53 hours (less than 60) in the last six months. That was one of the first questions they asked me when they called me a few days ago to set up the interview.

I wish I could let my experience carry me, but they really are strict about this "requirement." There is no sim ride in their interview process, but the interview is a bit rigorous. I'll be prepared for it.

That said, I'll check with someone on the "inside" if they would allow exceptions. But I doubt it.

If your interview is also in Houston I would get the hours. There are plenty of guys who posted on aviationinterview.com that were sent home before the interview ever began. Not sure about other regionals, but this one has NO exceptions. I guess they figure if you can't follow instructions prior to the interview then you won't follow them later. With all the competition out there for jobs, I don't blame them for using this policy to narrow the field.

Good luck getting the hours and with the interview.

Yep, you guessed it. Every employeer has "discriminators" to figure out who to hire and not hire. This is one of theirs.

BTW, the lady with whom I spoke a few days ago was understanding about not having the 60 hours in the last 6 month. She offered me one of three interview dates. I told her I needed to get the required 60 hours and said I'd like to take the latest interview date. She had no problem with it since I met all of the other requirements.

So: always be honest. However, have the hours when you show up, or you might as well not show up!

Thanks

PS -- I'm still looking for others to fly with. I've got 2 or 3 offers, but could always use more. Please Private Message (PM) me if you want to tour Texas!

That would be the EASY thing to do. But I really want this job and don't want to take the chance of them calling the FBO. I doubt that would happen, but it's not worth the risk of being blackballed from the company FOREVER because I lied.

Honesty IS the best policy.

Thanks!
