I was looking at different business airplanes and they mentioned NBAA ranges. Does this differ from FAA requirements? If so, how? And do you use this way of determining ranges? Thx.

If I remember right NBAA Range is:

Fly to destination, miss approach, fly to alternate 200NM away (at LRC) and land and have 45 minutes of fuel left.

NBAA IFR Range Profile

Here's the gouge out of Latest BCA purchase and planning issue.
Origin.destination and alternate airports at sea level, ISA,zero
wind, max of three cruise levels 30 minute vfr reserve at alternate.
3000ft per/minute descent from final cruise altitude to initial
approach fix, standard instrument approach (fuel=5 minute hold
at 5000Ft,go missed climb to 5000 hold for 5 minutes get clearance to alternate, climb to 200nm alternate cruise altitude
LRC to alternate,3000 ft fpm descent to vfr landing at alternate.

Doesn't get any clearer than that! ;)

I knew I was close, just didn't have all the details down. :)
