Someone asked me about this and I don't have a clue...haven't seen an example of it. I can only pass along the question.

In the navaid info box, printed on a chart, are the words "No Ident". Other than the obvious, what does this mean ? Why is it there...what are the operational implications of it...where would one find an official, published explanation of this ?

Never heard of or seen anything like this on a Jepps chart. Nothing in the Jepps Intro section, Chart Clinic, or AIM. Thanks.

I'm not sure either but I called Jepp's tech assistance once to find out what a "KRM" is (Russian ILS, really) and they were real helpful.

RTW,

I wish I had an example to see myself, but the person who ask me about this had only seen the question written out with no accompanying example. It's just one of those chart trivia things...you know, win a beer...

If it says no ident, I would assume it means that it works, even though there would be no morse code identifier to be certain of it. If you don't hear the beeps, you're supposed to consider it inop, so by saying no ident, they're sidestepping that.

Of couse, you know what happens when you assume.;)
