Now that's funny. I don't care who you are.

In regards to the original topic, Duane W. has a letter in this month's ALPA rag about a national work stoppage (he says it would not work).

So how do you think the average citizen is going to react to hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants marching through our city streets carrying foriegn flags?

I am an average citizen and I am pissed about it. I dont want to see immigrants and illegals flooding our streets and trying to hurt our economy on May 1st. They are trying to flex their muscle and show that they can influence our economy in an attempt to get some "rights." C'mon...........what about being thankful and grateful for that which they have here.....they couldnt possibly have FREE healthcare in Mexico like they do have here, at our expense.

On May 1st, as their goal is to shut our cities down and hurt the economy, we need to save our shopping for that day. Save your shopping for food, goods or anything for May 1st. Take the wife out to dinner....anything to get back at this unacceptable attempt to bite the hand that feeds these people!!!!

i think all the pilots did go on strike back in Sept of 2001. I believe people are fully aware of the ramifications of no airplanes in the sky. I believe there are still some pilots demonstrating they just call it furloughed to sound nifty

I hope it angers and outrages people enough that they finally drop their "somebody else will fix it" attitudes and demand that the government do something about the illegal alien problem, like enforce the laws we already have.

I've already read a few articles about how the protests and marches are getting people involved that were otherwise on the sidelines. Hopefully this will be the final wake-up call to every legal citizen.

Because they would all be fired.

If EVERY pilot participated in the "walk out", there is no way they could fire everyone. If they fired everyone, the skies would be quiet for 2 months. Reagan fired the controllers because they had a "no-strike" clause in their contract. They quickly replaced them with military controllers. It would take weeks alone for the airlines to do TSA required background checks on new-hires.

It is fun to think about, but we as pilots could never pull it off. What we could do, is write up airplanes at the most inconvenient outstation. Could you imagine if we did our job "by the book". Delay the flight to write up a reading light for seat 24C. After landing at "BFE" airport, write up the nose wheel has excessive vibration. Again, if EVERYONE would have at least 1 write up for every flight, we could create havoc. But it would only work if all pilots from all airlines would participate, this will never happen.

Who cares about pilots writing airplanes up. What about the illegals that are going to try and hurt our economy and shut our cities down for a day??? Thats the issue at hand here. I mean, what a slap in the face to us taxpayers though? Geeeeez, here we have given them free healthcare and access to other social services for FREE? Shutting down our cities and protesting in our streets for rights of illegals is our thanks???? Thats our thanks because their own government wont take care of their own....and now that is somehow our responsibility???? Are we all high on their smack that they are bringing here??? This is unreal. If they really do this march, I have zero sympathy for any of em............lets please send em back at ANY expense necessary.

Pilots walking out won't do squat in my opinion, the public perception is that aircraft can now fly themselves and that pilots are making $300 K. Never mind the thieves in management and the politicians that allow the companies to default on our pensions. :bomb:
