N101AJ / Intermap - what are they doing?

Anybody know what these people are doing? Just wondering why they launch from Midland at 1 AM and fly around Texas on IFR plan and then back to Midland.

I know "some sort of mapping" but just curious if anyone out there actually knew what they were doing, maybe flying on behalf of Google Earth, etc.

I would think that if it were for Google Earth, then they would be flying during daylight hours. I haven't seen too many night shots in Google.

I think that they are radar mapping the Rio Grande valley.
