ATP is actually a part 61 school, but you are right about 10 hours being a short amount of time for the training. The purpose of me getting the rating in this manner is to be able to log PIC while I fly left seat with an MEI flying right seat to learn the finer points of ME flying.Theres a local Seminole I can rent with thier MEI until I have enough hours to rent it alone and of course I'd like to split time with other more qualified pilots. I also agree about the procdures aspect of the training, you MUST know them inside out or you won't make it through the checkride.
