Ive got the Bose X headsets. I took the ear buds and taped them over the little holes on the outside of the ear peices. Works great, you can hear atc and the ICS just fine. I dont know if any other headsets have the holes on the outside of the ear peices like the Bose X's do.

I have had a Sigtronics Transcom II battery powered intercom for almost 20 years. It has a stereo aux input jack that works fine. It doesn't mute the music when the other pilot or the radio chimes in.

It also has an output jack if you want to record ATC through it but I have never used it.

xm radio

oh what the hell, just get a garmin 396 nwith xm radio, the tornado warnings and nexrad satelite will spoil you for sure.. we love ours

Just purchased an ipod and I would like to hook it into my headsets and listen to ATC, and the other guy, when we fly. Any advice?

Strikes me as a bad idea. Owners find out and u r toast.

Can I have some dumb with a side order of careless and reckless?

How does piping music into your headset work with the CVR, just curious if that would show up on it or not.

I have a Sigtronics system as well. But when I connect something into the stereo aux input, I can hear it sound but is always very quiet even at max volume. Any suggestions?

The only suggestions I have are the obvious ones:
1) new 9V battery
2) power switch ON
3) try another music device
4) try another connector cable

FL420, I went to Radio Shack and bought a shorter connector cable which yielded much better sound. Did some contour flying along the river w/Marley playing in the headsets yesterday...Good times!

Nice. I'm glad it was an easy fix. I should be so lucky.
