Does anyone know anything about these guys? They fly Casa 212's, King Airs, and have some DC8's too. I have the possibility to work for them as a Casa FO and was told that I would most likely upgrade to captain within 3-6 months. Does anyone have any info on working conditions, maint, ect. I would be leaving another 135 freight job for this so if anyone knows anything about them it would be greatly appreciated.

I flew for Mark & Preston Murray many years ago. They are great to work! I think that's pretty accurate of an upgrade to captain in about 3-6 months. I hired in off the street as a captain to fly Mu-2's and they were going to type me in the CASA 212 but I left before that happened. It's all merit based...good luck.

When did they start operating the DC8's ? I've never heard of them having anything larger than the Casa's.

I new and did a little work for Mark years ago and he was a great guy and fun to work with.I wouldn't be surprised that the DC-8's are some how connected with Connie Kalitta.

murray aviation is a great company to work for. you can make it a great experience or you can make it a bad one. they treat their pilots good, i never had any problem there. they have casa 212, be-90, dc-8's and a j-31 in the hanger doing a freight conversion. the murray brothers are very smart business men. over the years they have restructured their aircraft fleet. they use to operate lear jets, mu-2 along with the casa 212. pay is not the best but it is better than others it is in the middle. the dc 8 is another operation of their which is operated far 125, the aircraft are owned by chrysler and managed and crewed by murray pilots. the fos and cpts of the 135 department fly both the casa and dc8. murray aviation has a web site it is murrayair.com or murray-aviation.com

I was their for 18 month and a cpt on all three aircraft. it is a great time builder and the employees are great. it is like a little family. the owners socilize with their employees, etc...

you are on a pager 24 hours a day. you get weekend off or 8 days a month approximately.

pay has been restructured since i was there and the schedule was restructured to try to accomidate a pilots life .

the above post was given by turbinej not tack, i was at work and did not realize who was logged in to flight info.
