I am fairly new to Flightinfo. Thanks for all the great info from all those who post.

I am considering one of those 5-Day type deals to get my Multi Rating and possibly my MEI. Has anyone done one for multi? Any good/bad/ugly experiences? I did my instrument that way and loved it. Any leads on good schools would be great. Location is not an issue. Thanks.

Sheble's

Sheble's is not overly generous with airplane time. I had a friend who went there for his multi. He might have gotten as many as 3.5 hours, including checkride. Three flights, if that. Not enough multi experience at all, but the truth is the insurance company governs if you get to fly the airplane alone without more time.

In my friend's case, Sheble worked fine. He needed the rating to upgrade to MEI at Riddle. Riddle provided the MEI, so he figured, correctly, that he'd get more experience in multis during his training. So, maybe he had twenty hours of multi before he was turned loose with students. At that point, experience built quickly.

I went to Sheble's for my ATP 13½ years ago. You have to go there prepared. My friend gave me all of his Duchess gouge. You complete a questionnaire and that is about the extent of your "oral." In all, I had two flights in the Duchess of 2.4 total and one sim. I left happy and with my ATP.
