What do you think is a competitive price to get an instructor and a multi engine to train and or build time in the DC area? For time building instructor would need to be on board cause of insurance.

Once you're rated you couple proably find an MEI or someone else who mets the insurance mins to split the costs with you. Everyone needs that multi-time.

Manassas Airport HEF

Ive done a of flying at Dulles Aviation at Manassas airport both as a renter and a CFI. For multi's they have a BE 76 Duchess forget what year...and a 1998 Seminole...the Duchess has a flight director HSI, and autopilot I think...The Seminole has dual Garmen 430's, flight director, autopilot, HSI. Anyways heres the website with the rates. They are the biggest school in the DC area.

WOW! 220.00 for a Seminole? I guess the rates I have been quoted are pretty good then - Seminole- 165.00hr/wet - Cessna 310 - 220.00 hr/wet, yes they are older, but i'm renting them, not buying them.

Strictly ME?

If you are strictly looking for the ME, MEI, I would go to one of the schools that does it flat rate. I did that, it's intense, it's thorough, and you walk out knowing how little you really know.

Once you have the ME/MEI, it's easier to rent. Doing it the old fashioned way, show up today, a few days from now, etc, will drag the process out, and you'll forget more than you remember.

Baron Block Time

Hi all,
In process of beginning a program where you can rapidly build multi-time. Sorry for the commercial post, but if interested, email any questions. Good luck in your flying!

I think Hyper has the plane and IS the MEI and wants to know how to price the plane so that he will attract business.

I'm gathering Hyper that you are skating the instruction thing and just telling the insurance company that this is a personal aircraft that YOU will always be in. Since this is time "building" and not instruction, you feel safe - the insurance guys will look at it differently if something goes wrong - this is a commercial venture.

Price is always what the market will bear. I didn't think people were going off trying to build a 100 hours multi like in the old days - what's the use when the airlines are looking at 5-6000 hour candidates with tons of multi and turbine? 1500 total time, 250 multi and you might be able to get a job running checks overnight.

Good luck.
