Anyone have suggestions for a good down to earth multi engine book for a slow guy like me? I remember using one by Paul Craig a long time ago back when I was just working on the rating but I need some good reference for some help organizing MEI lesson plans and just multi review in general. Trying to knock the rust off and have a thorough review of Multi aerodynamics and so on. The CFI I'm using is not very organized nor puts much emphasis on ground lessons. So its up to me to get ready for the ATP ride in the next few weeks.

Oh and in case anyone suggests, no I cant change instructors. For those of you familiar, I'm on the WIA program so I'm forced to use the one school in my area who takes WIA, and the guy that was given to me is the one of only one of few who is multi current. Thanks all, oh yeah trying to stay under $40-$50

Cheers

Multi manuals

The Turbine Pilot's Flight Manual by Brown and Holt, ISBN: 0-8138-002304; has a few pages devoted to props, prop systems, and multi theory. This book is very well written and easy to understand. It's available here at www.amazon.com.

At one time Jepp published a good multiengine training manual. I believe that it was used in the multi ground school at FSI. I cannot find a link to it for you. It could be out of print. I urge you to get a copy if you can. Maybe someone can provide info on how to obtain this book.

Kershner writes good books, but they may not be what you need.

Of course, all FAA materials are its final word on any aviation subject.

Good luck with your efforts.

If you are looking for some MEI lesson plans try this website...

These are great lesson plans you can print out for any certificate or rating.

If your willing to spend a few bucks ($59 to be exact) you can go to www.jeppesen.com (go to training manuals) which sells a multi engine manual which is really a quality book. Good descriptions and color pics as usual- nice learning format...if your are looking for the cheapest way, go with ASA's multi-engine oral exam guide. It's not as detailed as the jeppesen but it is only $10. I know the jepp is spendy, but i really think it is worth the buy.

You can also look up your local library on the internet and use their website (so you don't have to actually go there) to see if they have any multi engine books. Free is always nice...Good luck

Jepp's website is a little confusing... go to shop online on the left side of the homepage then... USA continue...aviation training...pilot training...multi engine (initial certification materials)

thanks guys Ill be making a buy this weekend, I have heard of that great Jepp book, just wish I could scare up the extra dough for it.
