Hey guys, what do you think about getting a multi engine rating before getting the CFI? I did my 10 hours of complex time for my commercial in an aztec, so I dont think It would take that many more hours to be ready for the checkride. I also have both of my writtens done for the CFI. Thanks!!

Mocaman,

It all depends on your situation. I got my Multi before my CFI because I worked for an FBO that allowed me to hop on Navajo and King Air flights. I wanted to start logging Multi time as soon as I could. I did get my CFI soon after. If you are not in a situation where you can log multi time on a regular basis than you really don't need to get your Multi first. Good luck to you.

I did my multi after CFI since I knew that I had a good chance of being hired by the flight school and could get a discount on the multi training costs. However, when training as an employee, you may not have the same priority on the schedule as someone who is not.
