Any one seen the claim of landing on Mt. Everest? or that it has been disproven?

I doubted it when I first saw the claim, but I was astounded to see that there is a legitimate claim of hovering at over 7000 meters!

The original claim was the summit, which has since been recanted. But as discussed in the general forum on this site, the accomplishment is no less impressive. It's just been tainted by the false claim of landing on the summit.

I know there was the rescue at camp 2 (19,860') in 96', by LTC Madan khatri Chhetri of the Nepalese army. There have been a couple of rescues at camp two by Italian pilots in the 70s also.

Ltc. Chhetri was flying a B2 squirrel stripped of extra fuel and equipment. It took him three passes to get it on the glacier.
