Happy Thanksgiving all --

I'm looking for an AME in the MSP area. Prefer something not too stressful, not looking for an astronaut physical. After years flying props, I don't hear like I used too!

Suggestions and experiences welcome. I looked at the AME database here on flightinfo, and noticed several are "pilot rated."

Thanks in advance,

N.L.

I don't have his name in front of me but the AME at Anoka (on the field) is very friendly and reasonably priced.

Another vote for Dr. Hoberg. Easy in and out, very nice and more than that, very helpful whenever I needed him for anything.

Couldn't ask for a better guy.

Dr. Glenn Hoberg is the only Dr. to go to. His # 715-425-5381. Good prices even if it is a little further drive.

If you feel like driving up to St. Cloud, Dr. VanNostrand. I can PM you the number if you'd like. Class 1 - 15 minutes, in and out...

I also vote for Dr. Hoberg. You may spend a few bucks more, but you would be hard pressed to find a better AME.

Doesn't Van Nostrand test the backdoor? Never been there myself but that's the word on the street...

Dr. Van Nostrand... Isn't he a dermatologist?
Ha ha! Wasn't that who Kramer was on Seinfeld? :D

Anway, thanks for the suggestions.

Looks like I might take a drive to River Falls.

Is the Anoka guy William Schmidt, or something like that? He was recommended to me by another pilot.

Thanks again,

N.L.

Yah the guy in Anoka is good. You'll be in and out no problem...and no finger in the back door.

:D Yep, he wanted to take a "section" of Kruger's mole with his deli slicer.
Classic episode....

Haha... you guys are full of it... Word on the street is wrong... VanNostrand doesn't check the "back door".... haha

Is that Dr. Phil or Frank Sidell? I noticed that there are two of them, both AME's

They run a father and son practice from the same office. I don't think the father practices much anymore, but the son is top notch.

I like Dr. Reid at Midelfort Clinic in EAU. Very professional and doesnt give the "astronaut" physical like some AMEs do

The father (Franklin) is semi retired...he's in FL most of the winter. Just did mine with Phil last month. Not a painful physical, but they need to calibrate their scale ;)

Fly safe!
