Moving To JAX area

Ill be moving to the area and am looking for some help from the locals. If anyone could help me out I would really appreciate it.

Looking for cheap living (its a CFI gig) near Cecil Field (VQQ)
Possibly a roommate
Any other general intel would be greatly appreciated

hey. Whats the name of the flight school you are going to be working at? I dont know of any at Cecil so thats why I am wondering. Im not aware of anyone that needs a roommate and I live with family so Im not up on the cheap housing scene. Welcome to JAX. Its a nice area.

spent 4 days there on an extended layover...imho, it's an armpit.
be sure and buy a car that gets great gas mileage, as you will need it in that area..

Well, you'll be on the westside, the bestside. Kinda 'necky out there, but not a bad area. I know that there is housing right there at VQQ [former military housing] that is very cheap, but I'm not sure how to check for vacancies there. That would be the best place for a CFI if you can find an opening. Try finding a number for Jaxport Operations at VQQ and ask if they have info about it. Cecil's a great training airport, good luck and have fun out there.

Where are you going to instruct? It doesn't happen to be Millenium Flight Solutions?

Does anyone know anything about Millenium Flight Solutions? Is it at Herlong (KHEG)?

Ditto on having a good car...things are really spread out here in JAX
