I worked for em back in 97/98. Flew the Caravan. Reqmt then was FAR 135 mins. But preference was for 2000+.
F-27 fo positions are/were lower mins. At the time, I think they hired some with 800-900 hours. I'd assume it's gone up since, but it wouldn't hurt to try.
F.O. base was around $15- 1600 per month. Fly every week. Get weekends and holidays off. Probably move around to different bases frequently, at least initially. For flights away from your main domocile, you get per diem on top of base salary. There was a training contract- I think it was $12000 for a year. Sign it and pay back a pro rated amount only if you leave within a year.
Schedule wasn't bad, if you like flying nights. Typically fly out about 7 or 8 pm, wait out the sort at the hub, and return to base about 6 or 7 am. Not alot of multiple segments, just out and back. Which was fine with me.
Caravan and Fokker schedules pretty similar. To make Cpt in the F-27, you'll go from f/o to Caravan (single pilot) then to F-27 cpt. Maybe different now.
Things are slow all over now, alot like back in '91-94. I had about 1500 hours time as an instructor before I landed my first job flying freight. And although I wasn't crazy about instructing, I think it's opened a few doors for me. So hang in there.
