Anyone have opinions on which is the most comfortable jumpseat to be stuck in on a intl. trip to/from Europe? Which a/c have more than 1 available jumpseat, crew rest areas/bunks, etc.....

cheers

I have been stuck up front on an A330 a few times. Its not wonderful, but it can be worse...The "jumpseat" is pretty uncomfortable but when the first person leaves to take thier break, you can sit in the IRO's seat. Thats not bad at all. I think the js on the airbus aircraft are a little better that boeing. The 757 seat isnt all that bad either. i have been stuck there on some transcon flights. The only bad thing is you are right on top of the captain. If you can js with a freight company, thats the way to go.

Definitely Polar/Atlas!
Better than first class, and some of the nicest guys, both ground and flight crews, I've ever hitched a ride with.

i heard that air france has a daily cargo flight from guadeloupe (caribbean) - anyone ridden with them?

i heard that atlas takes 135 guys (?!?), like me.

I rode on AA in the 777 from London to ORD. Immediately after T/O, the captain let me go to the empty crew bed and told me he would send someone after me during the approach checks into ORD. I slept in a bed the entire flight. "Awsome"
