Just a quick question for those of you that may know...

Are all new hires at regionals hired at the same level, that is as a first year FO?

Are more experienced pilots (those coming from other airlines/jet experience/etc.) hired as higher paid first officers or captains?

Do furloughed pilots who give up seniority numbers at other regionals required to "start over" when changing companies?

Just wondering how this worked.

Most of the time. Sometimes companies would hire captains off the street when necessary, but I'm pretty sure it's not happening right now.

Heck no (to the first officer thing). Payscales are based on longevity (seniority) within the company.

Yes. It's only fair to those who put their time into a particular airline. Does anyone like a person who cuts in line?
