I can't decide whats more fun, working around the engine which is packed so tight in the cowl there isnt room for a 2yr old's finger, or working inside the fuel tanks to apply that sealant.
 
The story that I was told some 20+ years ago was
that Old man Mooney knew that his wife was fooling
around with an A&P but he didn't know which one
so he avenged himself on all of them by designing
the airplane the way he did...

I was a partner on a '66 E model (Super 21).
Thouroghly enjoyed flying it.

I still carry scars from working on it. Not only is the cowling tight the engine mount is made of many small tubes. I recall having to dismount the vacuum pump once-in order to remove the right
mag...


Don't know about the new ones but I can't
imagine that the french did anything to help.
