CW, he's another thing to consider. A lot of pilots, back when they were young, myself included, never considered flying business jets. When you started flying that flight instructor was probably telling you how much he'd love to work for the airlines. Or if you went military, that IP was probably saying how he's going to seperate in a couple of years and get a job flying for FEDEX. Not too many people consider going corporate until your too far down the 121 ladder.

Going corporate is a better lifestyle choice for SOME people, it certainly is for me, but I also never planned on being a corporate pilot, I just kind of fell into it, and now I'm a point where I can't/won't leave it.

The real differnce between corporate and 121 jobs is that there is no union protection, that's good and bad! On the low end there are some real shady operators out there, on the other hand there are some corporate jobs that have a much better lifestyle/pay than any union job!

Certainly, I would encourage EV120 not to leave his job unless he has something real good lined up, but going corporate can certainly put a smile on your face!

so back to the original question

So are there any good corporate gigs out there in the MSP area? I don't have experience in the corporate arena, so I don't know which one is better or worse(airline or corporate). I just know that I have been out of flying for over a year now(furloughed from 121 carrier) and would love to just be flying again.

I would not leave my current position without a definate job somewhere else. I was just wondering if there was any feedback about the job situation in Minnesota.

I considering looking around, and would like a good place to start. I know of larger companies like Target, 3M, and Schwann's, and others. Just wondering if anyone knows what the market is like.

Dont get me wrong I love the flying I do...when I do it. I am more than half way up the list at my current company and I am sick of being scolded by a 20 year old scheduler who is home every night.

If there is any info out the it would be appreciated. From the sound of it, good departments are filling up with furloughed pilots.
