Howdy all,

When the airlines ask for PIC time on applications, I'm assuming they are referring to actual aircraft commander time as opposed to "sole manipulator of the controls" under Part 61. Is this correct? How did you military types log your T-37 and T-1 time? I was going to leave these off completely since it was all student time.

Thanks!

You are correct in the majority of cases. What you will find after filling out a lot of airline apps, is that each airline has a different way they want to see stuff broken down. In general terms, I used only Part 1 defined PIC versus Part 61. In one interview at a jet operator outfit, they questioned it. I guess they weren't used to seeing it logged Part 1 style, but offered me a job anyway. Anyway, look at each airline carefully and decide what they are looking for in their apps. As far as UPT goes, I counted it in my total time, but did not count any of it as PIC. Hey, you were flying, weren't you?
