Rumor has it that MidAtlantic has reached the bottom of the APL list while attempting to fill first-officer positions.

(There are still plenty of people who preferenced Captain who are awaiting a call).

The questions of the day are:
  • Will MidAtlantic begin to offer the flowthrough to the wholly-owned pilots?
  • Has a combined list of the wholly-owned pilots been generated and distributed?
  • Did LOA91 eliminate the flowthrough?
  • If so, will MDA now be spooling up to hire first officers off the street?

To start off, I'm not in the mix of stuff on info but here is whats on the street. Yeah I hear calls will start soon for MDA guys at the WO. That said it going to be a mess, PSA/PDT/ALG are all very short. PSA due to getting aircraft and ALG/PDT due to guys bailing fast. PDT is hiring and upgrading and ALG isn't. The merger stuff seems to be at a halt although management says its still a go. As of now Dashs arent going like they said (from what I hear) so the whole situation is going to be a MESS if ALG/PDT guys start going to MDA and PDT/ALG can't staff.

(As for myself I hope it clears guys out ahead so I have the chance to move into the left seat again. Its so nice that there are guys at PDT that are junior to me but are upgraded or are already Capts.)

Will MidAtlantic begin to offer the flowthrough to the wholly-owned pilots?

They better, if not it will be the final straw, guys will begin to try and burn this place down faster than anyone in crystal city could have ever done themnselves. Everybody got theirs, PSA, mainline furloughed (although it s not pretty), the contract carriers. Just toss us a freakin bone already, jeez it's the least they could do for these PDT and ALG guys who have contributed so much to this company in the last 15 years of WO, god only knows how many times we've proped this place up but, Ahem, guess we can never know for sure because they say there are no "books" for the WO.

[*]Has a combined list of the wholly-owned pilots been generated and distributed?

Yes its on our ALPA site, but PDT is being a pain in the A$$ about it as some of their sen went by social security # w/in class and some (most) used DOB. That Olav guy is a real piece of work.

[*]Did LOA91 eliminate the flowthrough?

Not according to the guy I asked, but who knows in the end, I don't believe it till I see it.

[*]If so, will MDA now be spooling up to hire first officers off the street?

so they say, not holding breath, see above, like I said, when I see it.......

Hope it helps

May 21 mec update stuff....

Flow-Through Update:
During the past two weeks there have been numerous meetings and conference calls between
the ALG and PDT MEC Chairmen and management at both Wholly Owned companies as well as
Mainline management. The Mainline ALPA MECC has also been involved in most of these
meetings. The main topic of discussion has been dealing with the flowthrough to Mid-Atlantic as
well as the effects of the passage of LOA 91 by the mainline pilots. There has been a lot of
activity and details should start surfacing very soon. Please watch the ALPA website and code-aphone
for new information.
On the issue of flow into MDA, the APL is almost exhausted for pilots to staff First Officer
positions at MDA. It is very likely that future positions will have to be filled with pilots from the
CEL. We have worked very hard finalizing the CEL and a copy has been provided to mainline
management. Again more details should be available shortly.

MAA has stopped classes for now, not sure why, but I hear one more 170 delivery, and then wait and see. For what, I don't know........

Yep, kind of knew that was comming since 91 was signed. I'm willing to bet the the rest of or majority of MDA deliveries are cx and CHQ will get the rest. The mainline guys will still get their J4J 50 or 100 % or whatever and AS USUAL THE SHAFTLOA FOR THE WO GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
