That's a real shame.

It never ocured to me how close I may have come to other airplanes when I was flying pistons. Only after I had flown airplanes with TCAS for a while did I realize how many airplanes were out there that I never saw. It's amazing to watch a TCAS target go right under you and never be able to pick it up outside.
 
It's sad news, the Friday it happened the weather was absolutely beautiful. One of our guys at the local FBO heard a lot of discussion over the unicom. Tragic, I know I have had some closer calls than I would like.
 
Give credit to the news article...nothing jumped out at me as I scanned it as being outrageously false and incorrect.
