Hi All,

I have been told by a flying buddy that Ms. McKinstry (at the latest interviews) would like you all to know something.

No more Drug Testing at the Meet and Greet the first day of interviews.

1. It was voluntary.

2. If you could not provide a sample it would be viewed by the DOT (?) as a refussal and would have to be reported.

3. To prevent this from becoming a problem NetJets has instituted a new policy. As soon as you find out that your paper work has been given the green light to do PRIA (after the interview process) then you can set up a Drug Test in your area for NetJets.

I think I got all of that right. It was 2nd hand. (He doesn't have access to the boards. So, he asked me to deliver the message.)

Also, some other changes have just occured (like background checks before intervew, except your current employer). The whole process is different and new from just a couple or just one month ago. They only call your current employer after you get the all is good after the interview and you so it is okay.

In addition, Only LAX is open for the next 2 months. Read as follows. If you want a job fast......then bid LAX. 2 opening this month....4 for next month. This is a short term issue. And, only one of his interview class wanted LAX out of 7.

Good Luck and be fly safe.

Thanks for the info. Once you have the accepted email, is there any other maintenence you need to do to your file, or do you just wait patiently?

Just wait patiently, but Derinda is aware that once your app is accepted you may get a little anxious during a long wait. She doesn't seem to mind an e-mail every once in a while with a quick question or even a "Hey, i'm still out here." type of tone. Don't call, and don't e-mail constantly, but once every other month or so is probably fine if it helps you deal with the wait.

A friend and I had our applications accepted on the same day. He e-mailed her about once every other month, I didn't e-mail at all. We got the interview invitation within 1 day of each other. So it really didn't seem to matter. Once you're accepted, they know you're out there and they'll get to you as soon as they can.

That's kinda F-ed up about the drug test.

I can remember at least one guy who opted to pass, saying he was on some cold medication and would rather wait... I never heard back from him, and left him a voice mail and email.

Why would they say it's competely voluntary and optional and then view it as a refusal???

They presetned it as no big deal if you didn't... Hope this didn't keep some good people from getting hired.

Actually I checked that with my buddy.

He said the only problem was if you tried to volunteer a sample and something went wrong (I don't have a clue what that could be though). Not if you choose not too.

Therefore if you decided not to give a sample you would not be penalized. That could only happen if you did provide a sample. I don't know how though.

I don't know anymore than that....sorry.
